People Polices
Equality, Diversity & Inclusivity
- Neighbourly is fully committed to equal employment opportunity and to attracting, retaining, developing and promoting the most qualified employees without regard to their age, sex, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, race, religion or belief and sexual orientation.
- Our commitment to equal opportunities extends to the appointment of third parties, such as but not limited to, franchisees, customers, suppliers, contractors, agency staff and consultants.
- Neighbourly promotes a working environment based on dignity, trust and respect, free from discrimination.
- A dedicated policy supports compliance with the Equality Act 2010, outlines our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the employment lifecycle and sets out how we put this commitment into practice.
- All associates take personal responsibility for observing, upholding, promoting and applying our policy. Creating the right environment is a responsibility all associates share. By embedding such values and constructively challenging inappropriate comments or ways of working, our associates help us achieve and maintain a truly inclusive workplace culture.
- Associates must treat their colleagues and all third parties they encounter during their work, fairly and with dignity, trust and respect. All dealings with colleagues or third parties must be free from discrimination. Any associate found to have committed, authorised or condoned an act of discrimination will face action under our Disciplinary Procedure.
Anti-Bullying and Anti-Harassment
- Neighbourly has a zero tolerance approach to bullying and harassment in any form, whether from other associates or third parties with whom we do business.
- Key to protecting our culture and people is seeking to eradicate bullying or harassment at work whether this be from other associates or third parties with whom associates have contact. We expect such third parties to understand and comply with our approach. Any dealings associates have with third parties, including franchisees, customers, suppliers, contractors, agency staff and consultants, must be free from harassment or bullying.
- All associates, and every one of our people, take personal responsibility for observing, upholding, promoting and applying our policy. Whatever their job is, this is part of the role.
- Anyone found to have committed, authorised or condoned an act of bullying or harassment against an associate, will be acted against whether an associate or third party.
- Definition and examples of sexual harassment can be found here.
Business Policies
Data Protection
- One of the key Code of Values is transparency. This is important in everything we do and especially so when it comes to personal data.
- Neighbourly complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 and is committed to ensuring its activities both respect and protect the personal data of all persons with which it interacts.
- Read our Customer Privacy Policy here.
Anti-Bribery & Corruption
- Neighbourly values its reputation for ethical behaviour and financial probity and reliability. It absolutely forbids corruption and the paying or receipt of bribes for any purpose. Any form of bribery or corruption by, or of, its associates, agents or consultants or any person or body acting on its behalf will not be tolerated. We respectfully ask that third parties such as, but not limited to, franchisees, customers, suppliers, contractors, agency staff and consultants do not place our associates in a position whereby they could breach this policy.
- We are committed to implementing effective measures to prevent, monitor and eliminate bribery and corruption by:
- Having and following a clear Anti-Bribery and Corruption policy, including restrictions on the acceptance of gifts, favours and entertainment;
- Encouraging associates to be vigilant and report any suspicion of bribery, providing them with suitable channels of communication, including confidential and anonymous methods, and ensuring sensitive information is treated appropriately;
- Rigorously investigating instances of alleged bribery and assisting the police and other appropriate authorities in any resultant prosecution; and
- Taking firm and vigorous action against any individual(s) involved.
Modern Slavery
- Neighbourly is committed to removing all forms of modern slavery (including human trafficking and forced labour) in its businesses and supply chain so it operates in a fair and ethical manner with integrity. Modern Slavery is a contravention of basic human rights in complete variance to the Code of Values.
- Neighbourly works toward the implementation of effective procedures to safeguard against modern slavery, including, but not limited to, identifying areas of risk and applying appropriate controls, due diligence and training. To achieve its aims, it follows an ongoing process of vigilance and action to bring about improvements and reviews progress annually.
